I have a passion for life and a desire to help others thrive. 

After becoming an empty nester, I began searching for my next season’s assignment. I attended writers’ conferences, studied under accomplished authors, and contributed to several collaborative works. I also co-authored two devotional books. But something still wasn’t quite right. Eventually, I realized I was in the wrong role. Editing, not writing, was my passion, so I set out to make it a reality.

Though I have a business degree from Brazosport College, I returned to school later in life and graduated magna cum laude from Liberty University in 2024 with a BS in psychology, with an emphasis in crisis counseling. During my studies and after graduation, I taught trauma classes at a nonprofit organization serving women who had been sexually exploited.

In 2024, my love for books brought me back to editing. After much prayer, I became a silver member of the Christian PEN: Proofreaders and Editors Network. I felt it important to continue developing my skills through the PEN Institute. As I prepare to retire from Dow Chemical where I’ve worked since 1981, I look forward to making editing my next big adventure.  

My other interests include teaching Bible study at my church and occasionally speaking at conferences. I love to knit, read, and take an annual trip to Cabo with my Cabo Girls. Card nights and mahjong provide plenty of fun, as does trying out new recipes on my friends. Time with my son, daughter-in-love, and grandson brings immeasurable joy. And playing with Max, my thirteen-year-old rescue dog, fills my heart.

And above all, I cherish my relationship with Jesus.
